1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Slatebase, a property management platform provided by RJP Group Ltd ("Slatebase", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. By creating an account or using Slatebase, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using Slatebase on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you confirm you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Slatebase.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your Slatebase account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity by any additional users (such as property managers or agents) you invite.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Slatebase.

3. Subscriptions, billing & refunds

Slatebase offers Free, Starter, and Portfolio subscription plans, billed monthly or annually via Stripe, our payment processor. Prices are shown on our pricing page and are subject to change with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.

Paid plans are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee — see our refund policy for full details. Outside of this guarantee, subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

You can cancel or downgrade your subscription at any time from your Account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access until then.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.

5. Your data

You retain ownership of all data you upload to Slatebase, including property records, tenant information, financial records, and documents ("Your Data"). You grant us a licence to host, store, process, and display Your Data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate legal basis and, where required, tenant consent to store personal data about your tenants and contractors within Slatebase. You can export Your Data at any time from Account → Data → Export all data.

See our Privacy Policy for details of how we process personal data as a data controller and processor.

6. Third-party services

Slatebase integrates with third-party services to provide certain features, including but not limited to:

Your use of these integrations is also subject to the relevant third party's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.

8. Availability & changes to the service

We aim to keep Slatebase available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out scheduled maintenance or make changes to features from time to time. We will give reasonable notice of any change that materially reduces the functionality available on your plan.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slatebase is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, rental income, or data, arising from your use of the platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

Our total liability to you in respect of any claim arising from your use of Slatebase is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time from Account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, or on reasonable notice for any other reason. On termination, your right to access Slatebase ends, and we will handle Your Data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

12. Support

We aim to respond to all support requests submitted via the in-app Help & Support form, or by email to hello@slatebase.co.uk, within 24 hours. This is a service target rather than a guaranteed contractual commitment, and response times may occasionally be longer during periods of high demand, planned maintenance, or outside UK business hours. We will always aim to keep you informed if a query is likely to take longer to resolve.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@slatebase.co.uk.
